I will keep my focus on the purpose of the trip, speaking Spanish at all times and getting to know the people of Spain. 2. I will be a good guest, following the routines and practices of the Spanish host family. 3. I will abstain from the use of alcohol or drugs under all circumstances. If any student is unable to function within these guidelines, the student will be withdrawn from the program at the parents’ expense. There will be no refunds. Application Process Step 1. Submit by mail the Spanish Learning Abroad Application with the non-refundable deposit of $550 (plus any additional activity costs, as applicable) made out to Spanish Learning Abroad. Step 2. The student’s Spanish teacher should fax 301-301-1437 or email [email protected] the Spanish Teacher Recommendation. Step 3. Once the Application and Recommendation have been reviewed and accepted, a Personal Interview with Student and Parents will be arranged, in person if geographically possible. |
Program Cost

We strongly encourage you to consider purchasing trip cancellation insurance. Cost The cost of the program includes home stay, meals (except tour day lunches), classes, afternoon activities, and program tours. The cost of the program does not include airfare, special tours, luggage charges, personal expenses, additional outings (going to a movie, a bullfight), gift purchases, sporting activities or trip insurance. Flight Arrangements Spanish Learning Abroad chaperones will be on the flights leaving from Washington, DC to Madrid, but not on all the return flights. Please let us know if you want Spanish Learning Abroad to make the flight arrangements for the applicant on the chaperoned flights. Our travel agent will contact you for reservation confirmation and billing. If you are making your own flight arrangements for your son/daughter, please send all flight itineraries to Spanish Learning Abroad. Please note that students need to arrive in Madrid (Barajas airport) the morning of June 16 (Session One), June 23 (Session Two), or June 30 (Session Three). The departures will be from Madrid in the morning of the final day of each session. PLEASE NOTE: If your son/daughter wants to enroll in a Special Tour (Barcelona, Bilbao or Asilah, Morocco) on the final weekend of his/her session, the return flight should be scheduled to depart from that city on the day that special tour ends.
