I liked living the life of a Spanish person.

My Spanish family was absolutely fantastic. They clearly cared about our well being – I always felt safe and happy with them. The program was a good mix of freedom to explore and experience Spain for ourselves and through structured activities.

New this year!!  We are very excited to offer this program in the city that was the jewel of the Nasirid dynasty and the last kingdom to be conquered by Isabel and Ferdinand.  Best known as the site of one of the most visited monuments in Europe, the Alhambra palace, today it is also home to one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in Spain, great museums and churches.  Granada is ideally situated near dozens of quaint towns that dot the mountains down to the Mediterranean.  Students will visit a number of these, and visit the beaches of Nerja and Salobreña.  The highlight of this program is a weekend visit to nearby Morocco.

The Program

We begin with a three-day tour of Madrid and nearby sites of great historical importance, like Segovia and Toledo.  These days will also be used to give students an orientation and introduction to cultural mores.  The heart and soul of the program will be the home stay experience in the city of Granada.  Main features of this program:

  • Live with a Spanish family and share their life;
  • Get to know Spanish teens … and make new friends
  • 3 hours of Spanish language instruction at a language school
  • Special visits to Seville, Malaga and Córdoba
  • Afternoon activities such as visits to historic sites, beach days, flamenco dancing, Spanish tapas & traditional dishes
  • Special weekend trip to Morocco

This program is designed for students with a language base of Spanish 2 or higher, who are committed to developing their Spanish language skills.  One-on-one tutoring is also available.
